Contract Insight — User Guide
VISDOM Services
03. Admin User Manual › VISDOM & Risk Management › VISDOM Services
Note: Each procedure in this guide begins at the Contract Insight homepage, so any section can be followed on its own. Custom fields are configurable, so the exact field list on a contract category record may vary between environments.
1. Overview
Administration → VISDOM Status reports on the live connection between Contract Insight and the external AI backend, CobbleStone VISDOM Services (VaaS). It shows a Connected & Live banner with the service endpoint, followed by Connection, Capabilities, and Connection & Provisioning sections that detail what the current connection supports. Opening the page only reads configuration; it does not call VISDOM, so no quota is used. Four actions are available: Test reachability (verify the service can be reached), Re-authorize VISDOM (refresh the connection's credentials), Sync field metadata (update the list of fields VISDOM can extract into), and Sync obligation types (update the list of obligation types VISDOM can recognize). This screen is the operational counterpart to VISDOM Configuration: Configuration decides what VISDOM is allowed to do, while VISDOM Status confirms the underlying service connection is healthy.
2. Key Elements
- Status badge and banner: Connected & Live confirms VISDOM Services are reachable and powering AI chat and document extraction, and shows the Endpoint in use.
- Connection: VISDOM Services reachable, OAuth application active, Authorized, Access token valid, Token expires, and Endpoint.
- Capabilities: VISDOM enabled, Assistant chat, Document extraction (live), LLM field extraction, Model, and Tier.
- Connection & Provisioning: Activation key present, Internal demo/dev system, and Client account, plus the four action buttons.
- Test reachability, Re-authorize VISDOM, Sync field metadata, and Sync obligation types manage and verify the live connection.
3. Navigating to VISDOM Status
- From the Contract Insight homepage, click the Administration icon at the bottom of the left navigation bar.
- In the Search administration box, type visdom.
- Under VISDOM AI, click the VISDOM Status tile.

4. Reading the Connection Status
- Navigate to VISDOM Status (see Section 3).
- Check the status badge in the top-right corner and the banner below the page description. Connected & Live means VISDOM Services are reachable and powering AI chat and document extraction.
- Review the Connection section. Each item should show a green check (Connected, Active, Yes, Valid). Note the Token expires date and time.
- Review the Capabilities section to confirm which VISDOM features are on, and which Model and Tier the environment uses.

| Item | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| VISDOM Services reachable | Whether the application can reach the VISDOM Services endpoint. |
| OAuth application active / Authorized | Whether the VISDOM connection has been set up and approved. |
| Access token valid / Token expires | Whether the current access token is valid, and when it lapses. |
| VISDOM enabled, Assistant chat, Document extraction (live), LLM field extraction | Which VISDOM capabilities are switched on for this environment. |
| Model / Tier | The AI model and VISDOM licence tier in use. |
5. Managing the Connection
- Scroll down to the Connection & Provisioning section.
- Confirm Activation key present shows Yes.
- Use the action buttons as needed:
- Test reachability: verifies the VISDOM Services endpoint can be reached.
- Re-authorize VISDOM: opens VISDOM's sign-in to approve the connection, then returns to this page with fresh tokens. Use it when the access token has lapsed.
- Sync field metadata: updates the list of fields VISDOM can extract into. Run it after adding or changing fields.
- Sync obligation types: updates the list of obligation types VISDOM can recognize.

Note: On internal demo/dev systems, automatic VISDOM account creation is disabled by design, and a notice is shown below the buttons.
6. Testing Reachability
- In the Connection & Provisioning section, click Test reachability.
- Review the result message shown at the bottom of the section. A successful test reads VISDOM Services responded (200) followed by the service host.
- If the test fails or the access token has lapsed, click Re-authorize VISDOM and complete the sign-in, then test again.
