Obligation Tracking

03. Admin User Manual › VISDOM & Risk Management › Obligation Tracking

Note: Each procedure in this guide begins at the Contract Insight homepage, so any section can be followed on its own. Custom fields are configurable, so the exact field list on a contract category record may vary between environments.

1. Overview

VISDOM can identify obligations in a contract's text and surface them for follow-up. In the feature-selection modal on Create with VISDOM (and in Administration > VISDOM Configuration > Default extractions, under standalone tools), Obligations is offered as an independent toggle alongside Possible system additions and GSA extraction. Behind it are two dedicated AI services visible on the Models & providers tab: Obligation Analysis ("Identifies obligations and their responsible parties") and Obligation Tasks ("Derives actionable tasks from obligations") — so VISDOM does not just flag that an obligation exists, it also identifies who is responsible and can turn the obligation into a trackable task. The Extraction behaviour tab adds confidence controls specifically for this feature: Hide obligation suggestions below a set percentage (not shown at all) and Flag obligation suggestions below a higher percentage (shown but marked low-confidence).

2. Key Elements

  • Enabled per the Obligations toggle in Default extractions / the Create with VISDOM feature picker.
  • Obligation Analysis identifies obligations and their responsible party; Obligation Tasks derives actionable follow-up tasks from them.
  • Extraction behaviour's confidence thresholds (hide below / flag below) control which obligation suggestions a reviewer even sees.
