Note: Each procedure in this guide begins at the Contract Insight homepage, so any section can be followed on its own. Custom fields are configurable, so the exact field list on a contract category record may vary between environments.

1. Overview

Every field's editor in Field Management carries a History section logging every change made to that field — who made it, when, and what changed (order, display name, show-on-email flag, description, or a show/hide condition added or removed) — alongside a separate "Used / assigned on" section showing exactly which record types and document templates reference the field.

2. Key Elements

• Administration → Field Management → Edit a field → History: a paged When/Who/What happened log, oldest entries reaching back years
• Logged events include field order changes (including drag-and-drop reordering), display-name edits, and show/hide condition changes
• A companion "Field Used On / Assigned To" section lists every record type, document template, ad-hoc report and security-group restriction referencing the field, and blocks deletion while any reference exists
