Duplicate Check

03. Admin User Manual › Field Manager › Duplicate Check

Note: Each procedure in this guide begins at the Contract Insight homepage, so any section can be followed on its own. Custom fields are configurable, so the exact field list on a contract category record may vary between environments.

1. Overview

Duplicate checking now lives inside Launchpad's "Duplicates and Merges" section: it flags repeated values in fields set to be unique (e.g. Employee First/Last Name), repeated options within a shared lookup list (e.g. the Customers or Contract Type list), and duplicate counterparty or clause-library names, each with an exact count and an Open link to review the matches.

2. Key Elements

  • Administration → Launchpad → Duplicates and Merges: 26 findings to review in this QA environment
  • Two kinds of duplicate are distinguished: a unique-field violation (e.g. "First Name repeats, but is set to be unique") and a repeated option within a shared list (e.g. "Repeated options in the Customers list")
  • A finding can be marked Accepted with an expiry date when duplicates are a known, intentional state rather than a defect
  • "Duplicate sign-in names" and several list-level duplicate checks currently show Passed — nothing found
