Contract Insight — User Guide
1. Decision Matrix Overview
03. Admin User Manual › Decision Matrices › 1. Decision Matrix Overview
Note: Each procedure in this guide begins at the Contract Insight homepage, so any section can be followed on its own. Custom fields are configurable, so the exact field list on a contract category record may vary between environments.
1. Overview
Surveys > Decision Matrices lists every configured decision matrix (41 records in this environment) with columns for its Decision ID, Name, an internal GUID-style Decision ID, and Date Created/Updated with the creating user. A matrix record itself is a lightweight header (Name, Description, Active Yes/No, Public Yes/No, Created By/Date Created, UpdatedBy/Date Updated) — the actual question-and-branch logic lives in a separate Decision Matrix Designer, opened from the list. The Designer describes itself as showing "the questions this matrix asks, and where each answer leads," and presents that logic as a draggable node map: a First Question box branches to Answer boxes, which in turn lead to further Question boxes, Ending responses, or nodes that currently "lead nowhere yet." A second "List & edit" tab presents the same structure in tabular form. Toolbar controls let a builder zoom, auto-Arrange the layout, Snap nodes to a grid, and export the map as PNG or SVG.
2. Key Elements
- Surveys > Decision Matrices is the list of every configured matrix, showing its ID, Name, and creation/update metadata (41 records in this environment).
- A matrix's own record holds header-level fields — Name, Description, Active, Public, and audit fields — while its question/answer logic lives in the separate Decision Matrix Designer.
- The Designer's Map view renders the matrix as a node diagram: a First Question leads to Answer nodes, which lead to further Questions or an Ending response, with a legend distinguishing each node type (including nodes that "lead nowhere yet").
- Nodes can be dragged to rearrange the tree, and each node has inline edit/add/delete controls; a "List & edit" tab offers the same content in a non-visual, tabular form.
- The Designer toolbar supports zooming, an Arrange auto-layout, Snap-to-grid, and exporting the current map as a PNG or SVG image.
