# VISDOM Overview

## Overview

VISDOM® attempts to systematically analyze contracts originated by internal or external paper by transforming the documents into building blocks for improved contract oversight, proactive opportunity identification, and risk mitigation. VISDOM is powerful artificial intelligence (AI) backed by machine learning. Take advantage of smarter contracts with CobbleStone®. VISDOM is an assistive technology that uses artificial intelligence, but may not produce accurate results. Artificial intelligence is not a perfect science, may produce adverse results, and has limitations that may include (but are not limited to): font size, variation in text and images, multi-column vs single column documents, training data, and quality. As with any artificial intelligence or automation, a qualified human should review, audit, adjust and confirm the results.

### Configuration Page

This section explains where to configure for field extractions.

1) Manage/Setup.

2) VISDOM Configuration.

3) Under Saved Processes click Edit next to the type of record you want VISDOM to extract from.

4) Select the field to configure.

The Fields column are the fields VISDOM is extracting and populating. You can assign more fields, by clicking the **Assign Field** button.

Select a field to configure VISDOM for text extraction and population.

Each field needs a different Algorithm. In the [**Configuring Fields**](/v1/docs/configuring-visdom-fields) section, you will find a list of fields and instructions on configuring VISDOM to extract the field.
