# Field Masks

## Creating Field Masks

To create a field mask, find Manage Field Masks in the Field Manager section of the Main Menu

Field Masks must be given a name and a format.

There are four different types of mask parts:

| Mask Element | Mask Part | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| # | Digit Mask | Number/Digit or space |
| L | Upper Mask | Uppercase Letter |
| l | Lower Mask | Lowercase Letter |
| a | Free Mask | This accepts any character |

To create a Phone Number mask, you could enter ###-###-####

Clicking Edit on a mask will put the mask you wish to edit back in the two boxes at the top of the page.

## Applying Field Masks

Field Masks can be applied to New or Existing Textbox Fields:

## Numeric Separators

Group Separators are available for Integer, Decimal, and Decimal4 fields. You can choose either no separator or a comma. For example: 1000 or 1,000.

Decimal Separators are available for Decimal and Decimal4 Fields. You can choose either a period or a comma. For example: 3.14 or 3,14

Separators are available on the Add Field and Edit Field screens.
