**Note:** Each procedure in this guide begins at the Contract Insight homepage, so any section can be followed on its own. Custom fields are configurable, so the exact field list on a contract category record may vary between environments.

# 1. Overview

Every field's editor in **Field Management** carries a **History** section logging every change made to that field — who made it, when, and what changed (order, display name, show-on-email flag, description, or a show/hide condition added or removed) — alongside a separate "Used / assigned on" section showing exactly which record types and document templates reference the field.

# 2. Key Elements

- Administration → **Field Management** → Edit a field → **History**: a paged When/Who/What happened log, oldest entries reaching back years
- Logged events include field order changes (including drag-and-drop reordering), display-name edits, and show/hide condition changes
- A companion "**Field Used On / Assigned To**" section lists every record type, document template, ad-hoc report and security-group restriction referencing the field, and blocks deletion while any reference exists
