Create a New Workflow

03. Admin User Manual › Workflow Management › Create a New Workflow

Note: Each procedure in this guide begins at the Contract Insight homepage, so any section can be followed on its own. Custom fields are configurable, so the exact field list on a contract category record may vary between environments.

1. Overview

A new rule starts from Add workflow on the Administration → Workflows screen, then is built out across its Conditions (which records it matches), Tasks (what gets created), Alerts (what shows on the record), and Settings (name, on/off, when it's checked, and repeat behavior) tabs — the same five-tab structure used to view or edit any of the 692 existing workflows.

2. Key Elements

  • Add workflow, at the top of the Workflows list, creates a new rule
  • Settings tab sets the workflow's Name, whether it's Switched on, and When to check it
  • Conditions tab defines ONLY WHEN a record matches — with no conditions added, it runs on every record of that type
  • Tasks, then Alerts, fill in what the workflow actually does once a record matches
