Contract Hierarchy

Contract Hierarchies may be created in Contract Insight which allows permissioned users to keep track of related parent/child records inside of the system. 


Adding a Contract Hierarchy

To add a Contract Hierarchy, navigate to a parent/child record's Contract Details screen. Under the Actions side menu, click Hierarchy

This brings the user to the Hierarchy sub-table which reveals the existing hierarchies if any presently exist. Click Add to begin creating a new Contract Hierarchy.

A prompt will appear asking the user if they would like to add this current record as the Parent Record or the Child Record. Click the applicable option.

A dropdown will appear which will take the user through the appropriate steps to link the records together. Select an option from the dropdown.

A new dropdown appears. Select an option from this dropdown as well then click Search

Click Search


This next screen populates the records that fit the user's search following the prior dropdowns. Click Link next to the necessary parent/child record.

Click Save Link to apply the parent/child record to the new Contract Hierarchy. 

Click Save Link

Editing a Contract Hierarchy

Navigate to the Contract Details screen of the hierarchy that requires editing. Under the Actions side menu, click Hierarchy.

Click the Pencil and Paper Icon to begin editing the hierarchy.

To edit the name or add a description, click edit. Otherwise, users may click on a tile in the diagram to edit that portion of the hierarchy. When a tile is clicked, it will be highlighted in red (pictured below).

On the right-hand side, after clicking on a tile, three options appear. Users may Add Child to this record in the hierarchy, Add Parent to this record in the hierarchy, or Sort Children in this hierarchy.

When adding a new child or parent record to the hierarchy, the user will follow the same steps as when adding a new record to the hierarchy in the beginning portion of this page.
