**Note:** Each procedure in this guide begins at the Contract Insight homepage, so any section can be followed on its own. Custom fields are configurable, so the exact field list on a contract category record may vary between environments.

# 1. Overview

**Field Management**'s **Record types** tab is where fields are **assigned** per contract type: pick a record type (from a list of dozens of contract types) and the panel shows every field currently **assigned** to it, flagged required or unique, so an NDA and a Master Services Agreement can be given different fields.

# 2. Key Elements

- Administration → **Field Management** → **Record types** tab: select a Record type, e.g. "NDA" or "Master Services Agreement"
- The **Assigned** list shows each field currently on that type, with req (required) and uniq (unique) flags
- Fields are added to or removed from a type here without touching the field's definition on the Fields tab
