**Note:** Each procedure in this guide begins at the Contract Insight homepage, so any section can be followed on its own. Custom fields are configurable, so the exact field list on a contract category record may vary between environments.

# 1. Overview

The full report designer's Sort section orders the report's output rows by one or more chosen columns; with none set, "No sorting — rows come back in the database's **natural order**," and sorting requires columns to already exist on the Fields section.

# 2. Key Elements

- Insights → Reports → Add report → Sort: "Add columns first — you can sort on any of the report's columns."
- **Sort order** affects both the Table and Chart views of the report's Live preview and the final Run output
- As with Filter, Sort only offers columns already selected in the Fields section
