# 1. Overview

Building a quick ad-hoc report directly from a record list starts at field selection, the same **Available fields** / **Report fields** mechanic used in the full designer's Fields section, but scoped from the start to the list's own table rather than a separately chosen one.

# 2. Key Elements

- Fields available for an ad-hoc report built from a list are drawn from that list's table automatically — no separate table-selection step
- Chosen fields become the ad-hoc report's output columns, in the order they're picked
- This step feeds directly into filtering, sorting, sharing and scheduling the resulting ad-hoc report
