# 1. Overview

**Dutch Auction** is a live solicitation type: **Add Solicitation** (Sourcing > Solicitations > Add) offers it as a quick-pick alongside RFP and RFI, and Field Management > Solicitation Details > **Record types** lists a dedicated "**Dutch Auction**" record type (plus test variants). Every solicitation's Record Details carries a **Dutch Auction Settings** section with **Starting Price**, **Price Decrease Amount**, and **Last Price Update** fields — confirmed live on an example record (**Starting Price** 1.00, **Price Decrease Amount** 1.00) — matching the legacy description of a reverse-bidding format where a **starting price** decreases over time until a vendor bids. A real example, "New Paper Supplier (**Dutch Auction**)," exists in the Solicitations list.
